Barnaby Howarth :

A REAL Human Success Story

Barnaby Howarth is a speaker, storyteller, podcast host and advocate for a more human definition of success. Through honest conversations and lived experience, Barnaby helps people recognise that greatness is not always found in being bigger, louder or more successful—it is often found in courage, character, connection and continuing to show up.

As Seen In

A Different Kind of
Success Story

Barnaby believes the best conversations begin when people stop performing and start being themselves.

After playing a season for the Sydney Swans as a type one diabetic in 1998, Barnaby’s life changed forever at 25 after a violent assault left him with an acquired disability following a stroke. The years that followed brought rehabilitation, grief – following the death of his 1st wife to breast cancer – frustration and reinvention, but they also taught him lessons about resilience that no textbook ever could.

He doesn’t claim to have life figured out.

He’s just giving life the best crack he can and helping audiences do the same.

When Barnaby started his small business while working full-time as an autocue operator at ABC News, his mission statement was refreshingly uncomplicated:

“My highest priority is building human relationships. If I make a profit, that’s a bonus.”

His business motto became even simpler:

Be a good bloke.

It wasn’t a marketing strategy.

It still isn’t.

Yet those values have led him to present for organisations including Google, Salesforce, Nestlé, Linfox, the Sydney Swans and the ABC, while interviewing some of Australia’s most respected leaders, athletes, journalists, comedians and CEOs on the Everyday Greatness podcast, like the Governor General of Australia, 2014 Australian of the year, former coach of the Matilda’s, and the former captain of Celtic FC.

Barnaby is also a deacon in the Coptic church, an author, a filmmaker, he has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, walked the Kokoda Track, made an AFL come-back to play his 100th game for his local footy club, and he is now a husband, father, homeowner & dog owner.

Speaking, Storytelling and Meaningful Conversations

Barnaby brings warmth, humour and lived experience to conversations that matter. Whether speaking on stage, hosting a podcast or working with an organisation, his approach is grounded in authenticity and a belief that the most powerful stories are often the most human ones.

"My highest priority is building human relationships. If I make a profit, that's a bonus."

What clients Have to say about Barnaby

"There is no one I'd rather have here at Kirribilli than you given everything you've done over the last 10 years on Everyday Greatness and the joy and privilege is really all mine, because you're one of the people I think who exercises care and kindness and generosity and respect wherever you go...and I'm so happy to be sitting here with you."

Governor General of Australia Excellency Sam Mostyn AC on Everyday Greatness

“Barnaby is more than a friend of the Club, he is a Blood. To say his story is one of resilience does not do it justice. Quite simply, Barnaby is a remarkable human and delivers his lessons with candour and humour in equal measures. Anyone who spends time with Barnaby will walk away a better person."

Tom Harley Chief Operating Officer – AFL. Formally Chief Executive Officer – Sydney Swans

“As a business woman, and having the privilege of chatting professionally, I experience a lot of speakers- Barnaby is one of the best!! His relaxed, casual, fun, real chatting style is easy to listen to. He is an articulate, wise and a prepared presenter and he is committed to sharing strategies rather than “rah, rah”.

I watched Barnaby chat with 13 and 14 year olds-the toughest audience of all, and they were inspired by him and took away a stack of immediately implementable tools to grow themselves as human beings.”
